In Dharamshala India, the Dalai Lama has a temple he resides at for a portion of his busy schedule. I was fortunate enough to see him for a lecture and listen to his teachings. He has a visible aura of light and love. He talks of forgiveness and peace, how-to live-in happiness and divine connection. He teaches simple reminders, “Be kind whenever possible and remember, it’s always possible,” he says chuckling and laughing.
“You don’t need to become a Buddhist to learn my practices. Keep your religious affiliations,” he would say. “Just practice our teachings. This is not a religion. It’s a science and art. There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.”
